The Aircraft Structural Assembler performs the assembly, fitting, finishing, and bonding of aircraft structural components and subassemblies to precise aerospace specifications. This role uses technical drawings, work orders, and specialized tools to complete final assembly work while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards.Relevant Military Backgrounds / AQDs Encouraged, but not limited to:Strong alignment with aviation structures and fabrication experience:Aircraft structural repair, modification, and airframe overhaulSheet metal fabrication, drilling, fastening, and assemblyComposite repair, layup, bonding, and curing processesDepot-level aircraft structural maintenanceCorrosion control and structural restorationAircraft manufacturing, production, or fabrication rolesPrecision layout, blueprint reading, and structural alignmentExamples of closely aligned military specialties:Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM)Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic – Safety Equipment (AME)Marine Corps Airframes (6092/6093) and aviation structures MOS fieldsAir Force 2A7X3 Aircraft Structural MaintenanceArmy 15-series aviation maintenance MOS (airframe/structures focused) POSITION DESCRIPTION The Aircraft Structural Assembler is responsible for performing complex final assembly for production parts and flyaway composite parts, specifically. Tasks include final fit up, finishing work, drill and tap, final assembly, and bonding of parts. The following essential job functions are performed as an Aircraft Structural Assembler:Assemble and fit aircraft structural parts and subassembliesPerform test fit and gap checks with high tolerancesPerform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programsAlign, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components, using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power toolsAdjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assembliesLayout and mark reference pointsRead and understand blueprints, isometric drawings and work ordersReceive and carry out directions from designated supervisors, production leads, and cell managersMust understand and comply with safety and 5SMust understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicableMust be able to read, understand and execute work orders to exacting specificationsMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition Performs on the job training for project certifications, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
