Idaho Youth Ranch
The Idaho Youth Ranch is excited to offer a SkillBridge internship opportunity for transitioning service members who are passionate about people, logistics, and community impact. As a Volunteer Services Intern, you’ll gain direct experience in nonprofit operations, volunteer coordination, and program support while contributing to a mission that changes lives across Idaho.
Over the course of your 60–180 day internship, you’ll work alongside the Volunteer Services Manager to help recruit, onboard, and support hundreds of volunteers who serve across our programs, thrift stores, and events. You’ll assist in organizing and tracking volunteer data, streamlining communication, helping with scheduling and recognition efforts, and ensuring volunteers have a meaningful and productive experience.Your work will involve a combination of behind-the-scenes organization and public-facing engagement. You might help post volunteer opportunities, coordinate with program staff to identify needs, or plan appreciation events and trainings. You’ll also gain insight into how volunteer service fuels nonprofit success—whether it’s sorting donations at a thrift store, mentoring youth in crisis, or helping at fundraising events. This internship is ideal for someone with strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills. If you enjoy working with people, building systems, managing multiple priorities, and seeing the direct impact of your efforts, you’ll thrive in this role. Experience in event planning, logistics, or personnel management is helpful but not required. As part of the Idaho Youth Ranch team, you’ll contribute to a values-driven culture where compassion, integrity, and trust guide every interaction. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of volunteer program management and transferable skills suited to roles in human resources, nonprofit leadership, community outreach, or organizational operations. This is more than an internship—it’s a front-row seat to the incredible power of people coming together to serve a mission. And it’s a meaningful way to continue your service while preparing for what’s next.
