Entry Level Interior Designer
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Interior Design Assistant Intern to join our team through the DoD SkillBridge program. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn the fundamentals of interior design, from creative concept development to technical drawings, sourcing, and business operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about design, social media, and client experience. Over the course of 14 weeks, the intern will gain exposure to real-world projects and develop a portfolio-ready capstone project showcasing their skills.
As an Interior Design Assistant Intern, you will work closely with our lead designer and team to support a variety of tasks that keep design projects moving forward. This role combines creative, technical, and operational training in the following areas:Responsibilities:*Assist with social media strategy, content creation, and scheduling across platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook)*Draft 2D floor plans, elevations, and sections using CAD software*Create basic 3D models and renderings for client presentations*Research and source materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, and accessories*Prepare mood boards, FF&E schedules, and design presentations*Learn and assist with project budgeting, invoicing, and vendor coordination*Maintain organized project files and assist with documentation*Contribute to a final capstone project, integrating all learned skills into a professional design presentation and binderQualifications:*Strong interest in interior design, architecture, or related fields*Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) preferred, but not required*Basic knowledge of social media platforms and content creation tools (Canva, Meta Business Suite) a plus*Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills*Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote/hybrid settingProgram Details:*Duration: 14 weeks (75–80 days)*Structure: Mix of part-time and full-day sessions, including remote work and occasional in-person meetings*Compensation: SkillBridge internship (paid by current military employer)
The internship is based in the Metro Atlanta area, with our primary office located in Marietta, GA. While much of the work can be completed remotely, occasional in-person meetings, site visits, and sourcing trips will take place throughout Atlanta and its surrounding areas.
