Through this partnership, we offer a structured, mentor-led fellowship within our Parts Department designed to build the skills, systems expertise, and professional experience needed for a successful transition into the civilian workforce.When you join our SkillBridge Fellowship, you will step into a supportive environment built around your development and transition success, including:• A 26-week structured training plan with clearly defined competencies at each phase• A dedicated mentor and weekly check-ins throughout the program• Hands-on, real-work experience—not a shadowing or observation program• Exposure to leadership across Parts, Warehouse, Service, and Construction functions• Competency validation and a personalized development plan for continued growth• Pathway to full-time employment upon successful program completion and military separationWe’re committed to supporting your transition, your growth, and your long-term success—from your final days in uniform through your first chapter in civilian industry. What The Role InvolvesThis 26-week fellowship immerses you in the full lifecycle of parts operations at Hillphoenix, a leader in commercial refrigeration. As a Parts Fellow, you will learn how customer inquiries move through quote generation, order processing, intercompany coordination, and invoice close-out—all within our core business systems, Zendesk and Vista ERP.The program is built around four progressive phases, moving from systems orientation hrough supervised practice to independent performance. A dedicated mentor will guide you throughout, with weekly check-ins and a formal readiness assessment in Weeks 25-26. Upon successful completion of the fellowship and military separation, high-performing fellows may be considered for full-time employment.

Upon successful completion of the fellowship and military separation, high-performing fellows may be considered for full-time employment.What You’ll DoOver the 26-week program, you will progress through four structured phases of increasing responsibility:Phase 1—Foundations & System Orientation (Weeks 1-4)• Learn Zendesk for ticket creation, updates, escalation paths, tagging, and reporting• Gain working knowledge of Vista ERP—including modules, dashboards, user permissions, and navigation best practicesPhase 2—Core Parts Operations (Weeks 5-10)• Create and manage Material Sales Quotes (MS Quotes) in Vista• Apply mark-up, margin, discount, and freight structures to customer quotes• Confirm customer purchase orders against quotes, verify ship-to addresses, and validate quantities• Select appropriate tax codes and ensure compliance requirements are met• Walk quotes end-to-end from initial inquiry through order entry under mentor reviewPhase 3—Intercompany & Invoice Operations (Week 11-16)• Issues intercompany purchase orders to Rack, Case, Anthony, and Specialty divisions• Manage lead times, intercompany pricing, and transfer workflows• Review, code, and authorize invoices through the approval workflow• Update quote statuses (won, lost, expired, revised) and manage open quotes• Perform data clean-up and integrity audits to maintain system accuracyPhase 4—Process Mastery & Independent Performance (Weeks 17-26)• Handle live Zendesk tickets and Vista transactions with decreasing mentor oversight• Process MS Quotes, purchase orders, and invoices independently with spot-check reviews• Coordinate cross-functionally with warehouse, service, and construction teams• Troubleshoot edge cases and apply escalation protocols appropriately• Use advanced Vista reporting for data analysis and workflow improvement• Complete a formal readiness assessment and competency validation in Weeks 25-26What You’ll BringEligibility• Active-duty US military service member within the final 180 days of service• Approval from your unit or command to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program• Commitment to the full 26-week fellowship durationSkills & Attributes• Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail• Effective written and verbal communication for customer and internal coordination• Comfort learning and operating in business software (prior ERP or ticketing experience is a plus but not required)• Analytical mindset for working with pricing, quantities, tax codes, and data accuracy• Self-directed work ethic with the ability to take initiative as independence increases• Professional demeanor in cross-functional and customer-facing interactionsPreferred Military Background• MOS, AFSC, or rating with exposure to logistics, supply, administration, finance, procurement, or customer service• Experience with process-driven workflows, documentation, and accountability-based systems.
