Great Hearts America - Job Training Program

Great Hearts Academies is the leading provider of classical education in the country. We are dedicated to serving families in the moral and intellectual formation of their children. Through the SkillBridge Program, we hope to provide on the job training in the craft of teaching, specifically the Socratic Method. This style of learning is a dialogue between individuals, where our students ask and answer questions to stimulate critical thinking and draw out underlying presumptions. The Socratic method is of course not unique to Great Hearts; it is a bulwark of classical learning. The Socratic Method protects the natural desire to know all children share. Teaching and learning continue throughout a student’s lifetime, so we seek to inspire each child through the lasting influence of excellent teachers. Teachers lead students through intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity and example—in short, through love and friendship. Ultimately, our teachers strive to cultivate the minds and hearts of students in the wonder-filled pursuit of truth, beauty and goodness. Participants in the SkillBridge program will be immersed in this culture of learning and wonder, in the hope they will be prepared to join us as a full-time faculty at the end of their program's tenure.

We're hiring apprentice teachers and lead teachers through the SkillBridge program. All lead teachers must hold a four year degree. We're hiring teachers for all subjects in grades Kinder through 12th. Our curriculum features Music, Poetry, Visual Arts, Drama, the Western Traditions of Literature, History and Philosophy, Latin Spanish, French, Elementary Mathematics (using Singapore Math), Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Geometry, Euclidean Geometry, Physical Education, Life Science, Earth/Physical Science, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. In addition, we are hiring Special Student Services Teaching Assistants (no certification required) and Special Student Services Lead Teachers (certification required, but we can help you earn this certification), English Language Learner Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers, Math and Reading Interventionists, as well as multiple non-teaching roles in our home offices.

Lead teaching roles require applicants to have a four year degree. Apprentice teaching roles require applicants to have at least a high school diploma. All applicants must pass a finger print clearance background check via the state of their employment (Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, or Florida) to begin the SkillBridge program and/or receive an employment offer from Great Hearts America).
