Program summary

The AI-Enhanced Robotic Manufacturing certificate program allows students to enhance their automated manufacturing skills by learning basic robotic concepts, fundamentals of cyber-physical systems, basics of artificial intelligence in the manufacturing environment, principles of programmable logic controllers, and basics in machine vision technology. These skills and the technical certificate will competitively position the student for employment in the AI Robotics Manufacturing field. The program includes 2 weeks of experiential learning with partner employers. Graduates will earn a Technical College Certificate plus 2 Industry Certifications: FANUC Certified Robot Operator and FANUC Certified Applied Robot Operator plus 17 hours of college credit

Roles & job description

Robotics Specialists serve as subject matter experts on robotic systems on the manufacturing floor and are responsible for proposing upgrades to the systems that can increase productivity. Additionally, Robotics Specialists apply knowledge of robotic concepts, cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence in manufacturing, programmable logic control and machine vision technology to ensure desired production and quality levels.

Additional notes

Lodging provided at Robins AFB in a contingency dorm at no cost. Single room, shared bath with same gender; therefore, military members cannot be accompanied. Cost of program is paid for using Federal and State Grants such as Georgia Hope Grant, Georgia Career Grant, Pell Grant, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant. Georgia VECTR Center’s programs are designed for service members without transferable skills in the civilian sector. Students with a bachelor’s degree or higher may not qualify for certain financial aid.
