Duties and Tasks:As a Systems Engineer on RSP, you'll be part of a cross-functional engineering team delivering hardware, software and systems solutions. This Systems Engineer role may focus on one or more of the following areas:Test & Integration Engineering: hardware/software validation, verification, and performance testingRequirements Engineering: documenting, analyzing, and managing system requirementsModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): system modeling, simulations, and design analysisHardware-Systems Engineering: design, integration, and troubleshooting of hardware systemsObjectives - Intern program participants will receive training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDMS mission in “providing smarter mission critical systems and products to defense, civil government, intelligence and cybersecurity customers”. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDMS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.Outcome – Offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to learn from the General Dynamics Mission Systems team.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience in Systems Engineering, including Test & Integration, Requirements, MBSE, or Hardware-Systems.Knowledge of systems design, MBSE modeling, and simulation.Familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS, Cameo, or similar).Experience with defense, aerospace, or mission-critical systems.Key Responsibilities:Execute systems engineering activities in Test & Integration, Requirements, MBSE, or Hardware-Systems, depending on focus areaCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance.Document, review, and manage system requirements using requirements management tools and MBSE.Participate in design reviews, verification, and validation activities.
