Operations and Player Development Internship
Intercollegiate athletics internship on the football operations and player development staff in the Department of Athletics at Florida State University.
Intern will assist the Director of Football Player Development with responsibility for assisting football student-athletes with transition from high schoolto college and college to life beyond football. Includes assisting with operations in the Training Table, classes/study hall, weight room, and on the practice field in a non-coaching mentoring fashion. Will engage with student-athletes on a daily basis. Will assist with managing the chaplain program. Will assist with the Student Services office to resolve student-athlete issues and will encourage attendance at Student Services programming. Assists with the development and execution of the plan for community service activities for student-athletes and coaches. Assists with the student-athletes plan for a transition to life beyond football. Coordinates personal development initiatives and post-college job opportunities for the student-athletes. Assist with identifying and monitoring at risk student-athletes. Will work closely with position coaches and football support staff, student-athlete academic services, compliance office, strength and conditioning, athletic training and equipment staffs. Will perform other work as assigned, including representing the Department of Athletics with internal and external agencies, both on and off campus.
Prefer individuals with an advanced degree and/or experience with sports operations, student athlete development, and event management.
Internship will involve nights, weekends, and holidays
