Decisive Point’s SkillBridge internship provides service members with an immersive experience into the world of venture capital investing in technologies for our national security. Interns will embark on a dynamic and immersive journey into the world of venture capital, where they will explore the intricate intersection of finance, innovation, and national security. This unique internship opportunity will provide interns with invaluable insights into the defense acquisition system, hands-on experience in investment analysis and due diligence, and the chance to contribute to the growth of cutting-edge startups that have the potential to reshape the future of defense technology. Interns will be an important member of our team, collaborating with seasoned professionals, attending industry events, and honing their skills to prepare for a promising career as a venture capital associate focused on defense technologies.
The SkillBridge intern responsibilities will include learning the foundations of venture capital investing and how it can be leveraged to accelerate the development and delivery of new, critical capabilities for the future of our national security. This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing investments, conducting due diligence, developing go-to-market strategies, and helping startups address the barriers to entry inherent in the defense acquisition system. The internship includes both hands on experiential learning as well as training on the various facets of venture capital investing, defense acquisitions, and startups. The experience culminates with the intern developing an investment thesis and delivering a pitch to Decisive Point’s investment committee on a startup of their choosing. This capstone is an important proof point to validate that the intern is prepared to be an effective venture capital associate.
This is an in person internship in Decisive Point's Alexandria, VA office.
Any costs associated with working from Decisive Point's Alexandria, VA office would need to be covered by the intern or their sponsoring agency.
