Program summary

SkillBridge participants at Datalytica will gain hands-on experience in a mission-focused technical environment supporting artificial intelligence test and evaluation, AI vulnerability assessment, cyber assurance, modeling and simulation, and mission software development.This opportunity is designed for transitioning service members who want to apply their operational, cyber, intelligence, software, or technical experience to the next generation of AI-enabled systems. Participants will help evaluate how AI behaves under stress, deception, adversarial manipulation, data corruption, model drift, and realistic mission conditions.Participants may support AI-enabled simulation environments, digital twin workflows, gamified evaluation scenarios, scoring systems, dashboards, technical reports, demonstrations, and proposal efforts. This role is well-suited for service members with experience in cyber operations, intelligence, mission planning, command and control, modeling and simulation, autonomy, software development, systems engineering, operational test, red teaming, or technical troubleshooting.Datalytica supports continuous learning and is comfortable giving SkillBridge participants time to work on certifications and education using service Tuition Assistance benefits. You will help turn operational experience into technology that improves AI assurance, warfighter trust, operational resilience, and mission success.

Roles & job description

Focused technical areas include Artificial Intelligence Test and Evaluation, AI Vulnerability Assessment, Cyber Science and Technology, Command and Control, Decision Support, Autonomy, Modeling and Simulation, Digital Twins, Intelligence Processing and Exploitation, and Operational Test and Evaluation.As an AI Simulation & Gamified Evaluation Engineer, SkillBridge participants will help design, build, test, and demonstrate interactive environments used to evaluate AI systems before they are trusted in operational settings.Responsibilities may include:Developing AI test environments for large language models, RAG systems, tool-using AI, agentic workflows, mission AI systems, and human-machine teaming applications.Designing gamified scenarios that measure AI reasoning, rule-following, decision quality, tactical consistency, vulnerability pathways, and performance under pressure.Building simulation, digital twin, synthetic environment, or scenario-based workflows for cyber, maritime, industrial, command-and-control, autonomy, or intelligence use cases.Creating scoring methods, challenge tasks, behavioral metrics, dashboards, and confidence indicators to compare AI systems and identify operational risk.Supporting adversarial assessment, red-team scenarios, operational stress testing, and behavioral characterization of AI-enabled systems.Supporting backend development, APIs, databases, data pipelines, cloud environments, DevOps workflows, dashboards, evidence collection, and automated AI assurance reports.Contributing to technical reports, test plans, user guides, demonstration materials, transition packages, white papers, and proposals.Working with AI developers, software engineers, cyber operators, designers, researchers, and mission experts to turn operational problems into repeatable AI evaluation workflows.Military Experience That Translates WellStrong candidates may have experience in:Cyber operationsComputer Network OperationsSignals intelligenceAll-source intelligenceElectronic warfareCommand and controlMission planningOperational test and evaluationRed team or adversarial assessmentModeling and simulationWargaming or training systemsSoftware development or scriptingCommunications and networksAutonomy, robotics, aviation, maritime, or space operationsSystems engineering or technical program supportData analysis or intelligence processingThis role is especially well suited for service members who understand how systems behave under stress, how adversaries think, and why mission tools must be tested before operators rely on them.

Eligibility notes

A college STEM degree is required for post-SkillBridge employment opportunities. Applicants should tell us about their STEM education, technical experience, certifications, and military training, which are all strong indicators of success, even if a degree has not yet been awarded.All post-SkillBridge employment opportunities require a STEM degree, a TS clearance, and the ability to work in person in a classified facility in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC. A counterintelligence or full-scope polygraph is highly desired.Applicants should be transitioning service members eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation and able to receive command approval before beginning the program.Desired Technical SkillsCandidates do not need every skill listed below.
