Cypress In-Line Inspection - Field Technician - On-the-Job Training

An In-Line Inspection (“ILI”) Field Technician is responsible for building, testing, and setup of ILI tools, software, and support equipment in preparation for pipeline inspections. They will also be trained to operate the ILI tools to inspect energy and municipal water pipelines around N. America. International travel is also a possibility. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, discipline, teamwork, and a proactive work ethic to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Cypress employs a very talented team of professionals including mechanical, electrical, software, signal processing engineers that work closely with our field technicians. Our ultra-high resolution (“UHR”) fifth generation (“5G”) proprietary EcoVision™ ILI tools offer best in class Magnetic Flux Leakage (“MFL”) ILI technology for inspecting energy and municipal water pipelines that is also commonly nicknamed “Smart Pigging”. Cypress works for some of the most prestigious municipal water authorities and energy pipeline companies in the world including but not limited to the City of Denver, City of San Francisco, Bridger, Chevron, Dominion/Enbridge, Energy Transfer, Marathon, Phillips 66, Targa Midstream, Swissport, United States Air Force, and Williams Companies, etc. Cypress proprietary EcoView™ data analysis software allows us to provide our customers with high-quality data, analysis, and reporting including 3D images of the condition of their pipeline. Required Skills & Key Responsibilities:• Precision Mindset: Performs quality checks and maintains documentation to effectively fulfill project requirements• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality standards are met • Proven track record of process improvement and optimization • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical processes • Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Customer Centric: Deliver exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers • Ability to work independently or with a team in accordance with project scope. • Actively participate in training sessions and pass required exams• Promote Environmental, Health & Safety and always follow safe working practices. • Represent Cypress with high moral standards, adhering to its "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team • Learn how to clean equipment, tracking, troubleshooting, repairs, QC policies, HSE standards, and maintenance procedures ensuring quality and proper operations. • Strong understanding of launching and receiving of ILI systems and associated support equipment. • Safe operation of forklifts, hoists, and cranes as needed.• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improvement in the work environment. • Maintain skills, certifications, and complete additional training (internal/external) as required • Participate in training sessions and pass required exams ANSI/ASNT ILI-PQ- standards • Prior to each project, performing a thorough engineering review of client provided information/data relating to the ILI inspection to confirm if all the required technical/production information has been provided to allow a full engineering evaluation and tool build of the ILI equipment. • Prior to mobilization, providing all engineering related information in the correct formats (i.e. Tool Builds, Required Modifications, Engineering Review, etc.) and ensuring it is uploaded to the company servers. • Develop a full understanding in the technical/engineering operations of company’s unique ILI tools for Caliper, MFL, AGM and IMU technologies. • Ensuring that the Company’s ILI tools and equipment pass all mandatory checks and calibrations and are ready for mobilization. • Working with Company teammates, identify any changes in the work scope to be performed at the site that may impact costs, schedule, contract, or customer relationship and ensure that change orders reflect the change in scope. • US Citizen, valid US driver’s license, responsible driving skills, and acceptable motor vehicle historyIf you are passionate about operational excellence, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
