Program summary

The CVS Health Military Connected Community Initiatives Team strives to be a leader in creating diverse employment, training, and education programs. Among a wide range of occupations, the company offers training positions in store management. The current CVS Health Store Manager in Training (SMIT) program is now targeting transitioning Service members seeking a civilian career in retail store management. This 12-week on-site training program starts with a multiple-day orientation at an approved SMIT store located within proximity 50 miles of the Service Members installation, followed up by foundational training that consists of explanation, demonstration, application and follow-up, all of which occurs under direct training and supervision of a Store Manager Trainee (SMIT) Coach. Throughout this program SMITs will be introduced to the key members of the management team and each functional area of store operations, and upon successful completion graduates are eligible for full-time employment as a Store or Operations Manager in one of 9,600 CVS Health retail pharmacy locations. (dependent upon hiring needs)
