Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering
The Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering leads the design, analysis, documentation, qualification, and production support of rugged electro-mechanical hardware used in defense and aerospace applications. This role manages hardware engineering personnel and directs mechanical packaging, chassis and enclosure design, circuit board integration, connectors, thermal management, structural analysis, shock and vibration performance, and qualification testing. The manager establishes priorities, reviews technical solutions, leads design reviews, coordinates manufacturing transition and engineering changes, and ensures programs meet technical, cost, schedule, quality, and customer requirements. The position is also responsible for staffing, employee development, resource planning, technical risk resolution, and continuous improvement of hardware engineering processes, tools, and capabilities.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field, with an advanced degree preferred. A minimum of approximately 10 years of experience in electro-mechanical packaging, electronic chassis, rugged hardware, or related product development is expected, including prior engineering leadership or functional management experience. Strong experience with SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools, engineering drawings, GD&T, thermal and fluid analysis, structural analysis, shock and vibration, and design for manufacturability is required. Knowledge of MIL-STD-810, VITA, VPX, VME, rugged embedded electronics, qualification testing, and production transition is highly desirable. Strong leadership, planning, communication, technical judgment, and employee development skills are required.
