Program summary

The Machinist SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with hands-on training and exposure to precision marching operations within a manufacturing environment. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills to operate manual and CNC equipment, machine large components to close tolerances, and support production requirements using ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This program is designed to build foundational capability in machining processes, equipment set-up, and production support, with opportunities across multiple U.S locations based on business needs.

Roles & job description

Machinist performs precision machining operations on large-scale components using manual and CNC equipment. This role supports manufacturing operations by producing parts that meet engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality requirements. Eligibility notes

High School Graduate or equivalent, shop mathematics and Trigonometry Skills.Two (2) years of manufacturing or related experience.Refer to the applicable Department Skills Matrix for Job Qualifications / RequirementsGeneral good housekeeping practices within work area.Maintain correct time reporting and accurate entries on applicable manufacturing documentation.Comply with the company's quality and safety requirementsBasic Mathematics skillsMust possess the mental capacity to comprehend information provided daily and make one's own decisions.

Program duration and training scope may be expanded or condensed based on participant experience, qualifications, and transition timeline. Due to DoW requirements, candidates must be US citizens. Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals
