Program summary

The CNC Machinist SkillBridge Internship provides transitioning service members with hands-on training in precision machining and manufacturing operations. Participants will develop skills in blueprint interpretation, CNC and manual machining, dimensional inspection, machine set-up, tooling applications, quality verification, and process troubleshooting. Through structured on-the-job training, participants will gain practical experience operating mills, lathes, and related machining equipment while supporting production requirements in a safety and quality-focused manufacturing environment.

Roles & job description

The CNC Machinist SkillBridge internship provides transitioning service members with hands-on training and exposure to precision machining operations within a manufacturing environment. Participants will develop technical skills in CNC and manual machining, blueprint interpretation, dimensional inspection, machine setup, and process troubleshooting while supporting production and quality requirements. This program is designed to build practical machining capability to produce precision components using mills, lathes, and related equipment, with opportunities to support complex manufacturing operations across multiple business areas. Eligibility notes

CNC and manual mill/lathe experience required, High School/GED required, Mazak Turning Centers experience preferred.Thread Rolling experience preferred, Technical/Trade School preferred, Must be able to lift, push, pull 50 lbs, Experience with stainless steels and high-temperature alloys. PC skills are a plus; Lift truck experience is a plus

Program duration and training scope may be expanded or condensed based on participant experience, qualifications, and transition timeline. Due to DoW requirements, candidates must be US citizens. Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals
