This SkillBridge opportunity is designed for transitioning military service members interested in hands-on leadership, coaching, and small business operations within the fitness industry.
The intern will participate in a structured, full-time training program supporting gym operations, coaching development, and workoutprogramming. Through direct mentorship, the intern will learn coaching fundamentals, programming principles, and member experience best practices. The program follows a five-month training plan focused on professional development, progressive responsibility, and real-world learning and does not replace an existing paid position. This internship will be conducted on-site in Nashville, TN.CrossFit
• Certification: Must hold a current CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1) credential or higher.• Physical Proficiency: Ability to execute basic functional movements (squats, presses, deadlifts, and Olympic lifts) to the standards outlined in the CrossFit Training Guide.• Commitment: Ability to work on-site at the facility for up to 40 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
1. Elite Coaching & Athlete Development• Deliver Engagement: Lead high-energy classes that prioritize community and performance.• Smart Scaling: Master the art of scaling and modifying workouts to meet athletes where they are while maintaining the intended stimulus.• Onboarding: Introduce newcomers to the CrossFit methodology through "Foundations" sessions.2. Gym Operations & Facility Management• Resource Management: Manage coach scheduling to ensure optimal class coverage.• Equipment Upkeep: Participate in rigorous maintenance protocols for equipment and facility cleanliness.3. Business Ownership & Strategic Growth• Financial Literacy: Gain a high-level understanding of gym accounting and state-specific business requirements.• Marketing Capstone Project: Develop and execute a growth-focused marketing campaign, then track and report its Return on Investment (ROI).
