The Commercial Diving Industry Exploration Internship at Commercial Divers International is designed for transitioning service members who are curious about careers in commercial diving. This program offers foundational exposure to diving techniques, industry operations, safety protocols, and career pathways before participants decide whether to pursue full-time training. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and industry insight, interns will gain a clear understanding of the demands and rewards of commercial diving.

Roles & job description

For those who choose to advance beyond the internship, full-time employment as a Commercial Diver involves underwater inspections, repairs, construction, and salvage operations across industries such as maritime, oil and gas, and infrastructure development.Key Responsibilities (Internship Experience)• Participate in introductory diving theory and safety training• Shadow experienced divers and observe underwater training projects• Learn about diving equipment, industry regulations, and career expectations• Observe demonstrations and basic underwater exercises• Receive guidance on the transition pathway to full-time commercial diving careers

Target military occupations

Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.

Eligibility notes

• Active duty service member eligible for SkillBridge participation• Interest in commercial diving and marine-based occupations• Strong swimming skills and comfort in water environments• Ability to work in team-based settings
