Colorado Department of Public Safetyhasn't added or updated a directory listing in over two years (last activity Jul 28, 2021). Programs like this are sometimes inactive even though they remain listed. Email the POC first, and have a backup option.
CDPS has 55 owned office and operational spaces around the entire state of Colorado. CDPS oversees the Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Fire Prevention, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management Administration, and School Safety Resources for the state. All in-processing must be completed at the Executive Directors Office in Lakewood, CO but depending on conversations with HR about desired skills training and location preference, the applicant may be placed in any space based on mutual agreement between them and the state. CDPS will try to be as flexible as possible to match the applicants desired skills training and location preference.

Logistics and service support, intelligence, maintenance, firefighting, administration, communications, legal, HR, finance and accounting, management are just some of the skillsets CDPS utilizes. All applicants must be able to pass an FBI and CBI criminal background check. Certain positions require a full background check with a polygraph. HR will provide background requirements before providing applicant with conditional internship acceptance letter.
We only listed one location on the website, which is the Executive Directors Office. We will try our best to get applicants to the exact desired location if it is a match for both the organization and the applicant. These conversations must happen with HR.
