Clayco - Internship

The Scheduling & Planning Engineer SkillBridge Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting Clayco's project controls and scheduling teams throughout all phases of commercial construction projects. This role is intended for approved active duty military SkillBridge internship candidates. The intern will assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking project progress, analyzing schedule performance, and supporting project planning efforts to help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Scheduling & Planning Engineer SkillBridge Intern will collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and other project stakeholders while developing a strong understanding of construction scheduling, planning, and project controls. Additionally, the Scheduling & Planning Engineer SkillBridge Intern is expected to work diligently to educate themselves through mentorship from Clayco Scheduling & Planning professionals and Operations leadership to prepare for a career in construction project controls and scheduling.

The Scheduling & Planning Engineer SkillBridge Intern will work closely with Clayco's Scheduling & Planning team to support the development, maintenance, and analysis of project schedules throughout all phases of construction. The intern will assist with collecting project progress updates from Project Managers, Superintendents, owners, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to help maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules. They will gain experience supporting schedule updates, maintaining project schedule baselines, and preparing project performance reports, including schedule status, critical path activities, earned value metrics, and project cash flow reporting.The intern will also assist with cost and resource loading of project schedules, review schedule logic and sequencing to support project planning efforts, and help identify opportunities to improve schedule accuracy and performance. Additionally, the Scheduling & Planning Engineer SkillBridge Intern will participate in developing schedules for both project pursuits and active construction projects while learning industry best practices for construction scheduling, project controls, and schedule reporting through direct mentorship from experienced Clayco Scheduling & Planning professionals.

Active-duty military members approved to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program are encouraged to apply. A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, a related field, or equivalent military experience is preferred. Previous leadership experience in the military, construction industry, or other relevant environments is also preferred. Candidates should have an interest in pursuing a career in construction scheduling, project controls, planning, or project management. Familiarity with construction scheduling principles, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software, as well as Building Information Modeling (BIM), is preferred but not required. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Candidates should be motivated, hardworking, team-oriented, and eager to learn, with the willingness to travel and/or relocate if a full-time offer is extended upon successful completion of the SkillBridge internship. Candidates must be able to walk unlevel terrain and active job sites several times per day, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds, and work in areas with elevated noise levels on a regular basis.

The internship opportunities are project-based and may be located anywhere within the United States. While each SkillBridge internship will be completed at a single project location, candidates should be willing to travel and/or relocate if offered full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship.Please include a resume with your application and indicate your preferred internship availability dates.
