JOB SUMMARYThe DoW Skillbridge Program is a vital initiative providing military service members withvaluable civilian training and employment opportunities as they transition out of the military.This training program will prepare a military service member to perform fire suppression and emergency rescue services.Training Program: 13 weeks, Monday-Friday 0800-1600Training Outcomes: NPQ Firefighter 1, NPQ Hazmat Awareness, NPQ Hazmat Operations, and NPQ Firefighter 2 certified
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• ACTIVE duty military service members MUST be eligible for the DoW SkillBridge Program and qualified for a SkillBridge administrative leave period of up to 180 days.• You may be eligible to participate in the SkillBridge program if you:+ Have 180 days of service (or fewer) remaining prior to your date of military discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active Military service.+ Obtain approval from your unit commander.+ Agree that participation in the DoW SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.+ Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Act.
