The ChasingTales Alaska Fly Fishing Guide SkillBridge Training Program is a comprehensive and hands-on internship designed to transition service members into professional fly-fishing guides. By combining technical skills, client management, and business development, this program ensures graduates are fully prepared for guiding careers on Alaska’s Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.
This SkillBridge training program prepares transitioning service members for a career as a Fly-Fishing Guide in Alaska, as well as other fresh water guiding opportunities. Trainees will gain expertise in fly fishing techniques, river navigation, boat handling, client interactions, fishery regulations, and trip logistics. By the end of the program, participants will be qualified to guide on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers, provide professional-level client experiences, and understand the business aspects of guiding.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history• Must hold or be eligible to hold and Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Guide License• Physical Fitness and Stamina• Basic Customer Service and Communication Skills
ChasingTales FOB or Fish Camp is located in Kasilof, Alaska. Job locations will vary throughout the season depending on the fishing demand, along different sections of the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers.
