CCME is seeking entry-level to experienced individuals that’s interested in joining our team as maintenance mechanic apprentice. This program offers hands-on / on-the-job training prior to entering the full apprenticeship. Upon the successful completion of the skill bridge program all training hours earned through this program will applied as a credit in the full apprenticeship. This opportunity offers an introduction to the maintenance field by giving the participants hands-on training under the supervision of an experienced journey-worker, while learning skills that are based on the residential, commercial or industrial high-demand industry. The apprentice obtains skills through our related instructions (classroom) that will prepare them for the position and receives on-the-job training in some of the following trade areas: safety, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical repairs, and (HVAC) heating-ventilation & air conditioning. Upon completion of the full apprenticeship, the apprentice will be recognized as a journeyman and possess industry recognized credentials. Complete routine/emergency work orders in a timely manner and follow safety protocols while performing duties. The mechanic apprentice will provide the following task orders: • Make mechanical repairs to interior apartment dwellings, commercial facilities or mechanical equipment. •Troubleshoot or install electrical fixtures/outlets, other electrical repairs •Plumbing repairs for sink or commode fixtures, repairs to hot water tanks and/or commercial chillers. •Repairs/ installation of home and/or commercial appliances, HVAC services (preventive maintenance, unit re-install or repair, and/or system charging). •Carpentry repairs in the areas: flooring/carpet repairs or install, door repair/installation, electronic mechanical hardware repair or installation, sheetrock repairs/installation, cabinetry, and minor soldering. Ensure equipment performs as planned, make repairs to small or large machinery, troubleshooting specific machine parts or an array of equipment. •Perform preventive maintenance schedule for various equipment •Maintain equipment control systems for signs of mechanical deterioration or failure, and utilize diagnostic equipment for observation and to make repairs.

Qualifications/Skills •Must be able to lift 50 lbs •Must be mechanically inclined and like to work with your hands. •Must possess good work ethic, dependable, positive attitude and be willing to learn. •Must be a self-starter and work well with others. • Applicants with prior experience as a apprentice or have participated in a pre-apprenticeship are encouraged to apply.
