Program summary

C5BDI is looking to fulfill account management internship roles for military personnel through the SkillBridge program. Account managers service our primary clients, which are largely represented by small businesses looking to do work with the federal government, especially the Department of Defense. SkillBridge interns will learn business development, general account management, bid and proposal support, federal acquisition pathways, industry and academia teaming, and general science and technology research on behalf of industry and government customers and end users.

Roles & job description

Account management responsibilities include leading day-to-day client operations specific tobusiness development and assisting the assigned capture manager in developing and executingstrategies to win business within our company’s target markets. This position requires a highlyorganized individual with an understanding of the competitive landscape and the ability toeffectively coordinate with multiple teams across the organization. The successful candidateworks with compelling capture plans, supports complex bids, and helps facilitate capture effortsto success. Address client needs and concerns that fall within scope as quickly and effectively aspossible Lead onboarding and offboarding process of clients Sustain consistent communication through various means with clients regardingupcoming, ongoing, and past business development opportunities Establish and maintain positive relationships with key decision makers Provide guidance and support to capture teams Monitor, review, and direct weekly proposal progress, ensuring adherence to theShipley-like capture process and proposal schedule Collaborate with multiple teams within the organization to create successful strategies Monitor, research, and analyze competitive landscape to create competitive advantages Assist the capture team with their strategic plans to win business within target markets Monitor post-award performance to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction Maintain accountability and awareness of bids and proposals, and guide teams tosuccess Ensure that all bids are compliant with customer requirements Ensure successful transition to project teams upon contract award Contribute to the increase in return on investment (ROI) for assigned clients Assist in planning, documenting, and monitoring internal and external capture projectefforts Develop, organize, and execute significant capture activities including competitiveanalysis, call plans, gather/assess/validate customer requirements, as well as identifyinggaps and emerging requirements Generate a baseline and program plan Prepare a plan for the proposal development phase Supervise, and collaborate strategies with the Proposal Manager Serve as primary or alternate point of contact between the proposal documentation teamand the federal/DoD solution team Provide effective guidance to the Proposal Manager and Program Manager fordevelopment of the Executive Summary and other key proposal summaries Participate as an independent proposal evaluator in all major proposals reviews Where the client is a SBIR/STTR technology contract awardee, utilize this ability to drivenon-competitive contracts leveraging your personally attained network ofindustry/government contacts

Additional notes

C5BDI HQ is located at 4646 Princess Anne Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA. The hybrid position would have interns come in 2-3 times per week for the duration of the internship training period.
