Medical Technician - Internship
A SkillBridge opportunity as a Medical Technician at the Boston MEPS provides hands‑on experience supporting medical readiness evaluations, including vitals collection, specimen handling, and diagnostic testing for military applicants. Participants work alongside experienced clinicians to learn accession medical standards and strengthen their technical and patient‑care skills in a structured, mission‑driven environment. This role is ideal for service members preparing to transition into civilian healthcare technician roles.
Serves as a Medical Technician in a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Incumbent of this position provides assistance to the examining Medical Officer with applicant examination and identification of observable physical characteristics (e.g., missing digits, scoliosis, pes planus), to include supporting the discovery of potential disqualifying enlistment or retention factors, and supporting the Medical Officer’s determination of an applicant’s fitness for military duty. All duties are performed under the supervision of the Medical Officer and in accordance with established MEPS policies and procedures.
