An Administrative and Business Support professional provides essential operational and clerical assistance to keep business functions running smoothly, including managing correspondence, scheduling, document preparation, record keeping, and coordinating meetings and travel. They handle data entry, maintain filing systems (both physical and electronic), process expense reports and invoices, answer phones, greet visitors, and support various departments with project coordination and general office management tasks. In defense contracting environments, they often assist with government contract documentation, maintain compliance records, support proposal preparation, manage controlled or proprietary information according to security protocols, and help ensure administrative processes meet audit and regulatory requirements. They serve as the organizational backbone, enabling managers and technical staff to focus on their core responsibilities while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and professional communication with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
