The Pilot Instructor delivers classroom and simulator-based C-5 pilot training in accordance with the C-5 Training System Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable Air Force standards. Training includes aircraft systems, normal and emergency procedures, and mission-specific operations
Apply varied instructional and learning theories and practices to mentor and instruct technically exact material, demanding processes, and strict adherences to instruction and regulations. Conduct academic and simulator instruction for pilot initial, transition, requalification, and continuation training. Operate simulator instructor stations, introduce malfunctions, and manage training profiles and scenarios. Evaluate student performance, provide detailed debriefs, and complete required training records and documentation. Support flight evaluations, remedial training, and instructor standardization activities. Assist with courseware review, safety initiatives, and updates to training materials and procedures.
11M, 3A
• Previously qualified as a C-5 AMP/C-5M Aircraft Commander • Flight experience: 1,000 C-5 flight hours, or 500 C-5 flight hours and 1,200 total flight hours (TFT) in mobility aircraft.• Graduate of a formal instructor pilot course.• Minimum of 200 C-5 Instructor Pilot hours.• Associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.• Fluent in spoken and written English.• Ability to obtain and maintain required Secret security clearance.• Knowledge of C-5 operations, systems, instruction, or maintenance as applicable.• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred skills: Community College of the Air Force qualification and formal training on instructor methodologies and curriculum development. Develop and maintain authorized software lists for all types of systems assigned
