You're invited to partner with Georgia-Alabama Dock & Door for a hands-on experience, traveling the southeast US, developing the theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and professional competencies, for a career in the field of commercial overhead door and warehouse dock equipment. Learn to deliver high-quality service, focusing on customer satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency, while utilizing best practices for assessing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a wide variety of overhead doors and dock equipment, and maintaining clear communication with team members and clients. Upon completion, participants will possess technical skills and professional confidence for a successful career as a Field Service Technician.

Roles & job description

Objectives:Learn the ins and outs of our day to day business and equipment to accurately resolve/repair properly and efficiently, and adequately serve customersBecome an expert in identifying and diagnosing equipment issuesWork seamlessly and cohesively with customers and other members of the teamResolve all customer complaints and repair or replace malfunctioning equipment as needed. Leave customers feeling satisfied and confident in their equipment at the end of each visitResponsibilities:Install overhead doors and dock equipment in customers’ places of business and train customers to properly operate or service their equipment. Work with team to thoroughly understand customer complaints and equipment issues before arriving on-site for maintenanceTravel to job sites to troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, and fix or replace equipment as neededProvide regularly scheduled, ongoing equipment maintenance visitsOperate the company vehicle and provide schedule updates with work order tracking softwareFollow company procedures and safety policiesSkills and qualifications:Ability to install equipment, diagnose problems, and make repairsMechanical/technical experience preferred, but not required, as training is availableWelding experience preferred, but not required, as training is availableCommercial dock door and equipment installation experience preferred, but not required, as training is availableStrong time-management skills to handle appointments and stay on a tight schedule efficientlyExcellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issuesAbility to collaborate with others and work well on a teamEnthusiasm for providing excellent customer serviceWritten and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear termsAttention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairsOrganizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the fieldComputer and technical skills to effectively understand the equipment and work order tracking software
