Mentors conduct weekly coaching sessions and help participants translate military experience into civilian cyber-instructor responsibilities.• Observe senior instructors and established classroom practices• Co-teach lessons and facilitate hands-on laboratories• Develop lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, and assessments• Receive feedback on classroom management, communication, and technical accuracy• Prepare for independent lesson delivery and employment as a Cyber InstructorSpecialized Skills & Cyber Instruction FocusThe program develops both technical cybersecurity proficiency and the instructional skills required to teach Department of War cyber education and training missions. Participants progress from orientation and curriculum design through supervised teaching, technical coursework, mission-focused cyber instruction, and independent capstone delivery. Cyber Instructor Program OverviewBasic Goals• Prepare participants to independently perform the duties of a Defensive Cyberspace Warfare Instructor• Build practical proficiency across networking, Windows, Linux, mission assurance, threat hunting, incident response, and cyber mission planning• Develop instructional products aligned with Instructional System Design (ISD) objectives and adult learning principles• Validate classroom, laboratory, assessment, and mentorship competencies through standardized performance evaluationsLearning Objectives• Explain strategic, operational, and tactical cyberspace concepts• Configure and troubleshoot secure computing and network environments• Administer Windows and Linux systems and apply system-hardening practices• Analyze network traffic, indicators of compromise, host artifacts, and malicious activity• Develop and deliver technically accurate lessons and laboratory exercises• Evaluate student performance using written assessments, practical exercises, and rubrics• Demonstrate professional ethics, security compliance, and effective classroom managementWeekly Responsibilities• Participate in instructor-led technical training and guided demonstrations• Complete hands-on labs, scenario-based practical exercises, and cyber-range activities• Develop or revise lesson plans, presentations, student guides, labs, and assessments• Observe, co-teach, and independently deliver classroom and laboratory instruction• Attend mentor coaching sessions and incorporate documented feedback
