Defense Contracting Analyst
Ajax Defense is a veteran-owned defense manufacturing holding company executing a buy-and-build consolidation strategy across the precision machining industrial base, with operating companies supplying major aerospace and defense prime contractors. The Defense Contract Analyst SkillBridge Fellow supports the Chief Strategy Officer and the operating company teams in the administration and analysis of government and prime contractor agreements.
This role consists of reviewing solicitations and awards, tracking FAR/DFARS flow-down requirements, maintaining the contract and proposal repository, and supporting cost and pricing volumes on active pursuits. This is a hands-on role inside a small, fast-moving corporate team where the Fellow will see the full arc of a defense pursuit from opportunity identification through award and performance, and will leave with practical experience translating military acquisition knowledge into the commercial supplier side of the defense industrial base. Responsibilities- Review solicitations, purchase orders, and prime contracts; identify and log FAR, DFARS, and customer-specific terms and flow-down obligations to subcontractors and suppliers- Support proposal and cost volume development, including pricing build-ups, basis-of-estimate documentation, and compliance matrices- Maintain the contracts repository, award tracking, and modification/change-order records across the portfolio- Assist with prime supplier portal registrations and qualification packages, plus SAM.gov and small-business certification upkeep- Support export control (ITAR/EAR) and CMMC compliance tasks tied to contract requirements, including data marking and technical data handling procedures- Prepare summaries and briefings for corporate leadership on contract status, obligations, and risk
Ajax Defense has roles available in Louisville, KY and Dayton, OH. Remote is an option during Skillbridge but cannot be guaranteed for a permanent position.
