0080 Security Specialist - Employment Skills Training Program
Our SkillBridge Program is modeled to prepare applicants for employment in the 0080 Security Specialist core competencies of Information, Personnel, Industrial, Physical, and Operations Security, commonly referred to as Information Protection (IP). We use Center for Development of Security Excellence, Security Professional Education Development (SPeD), as a tool to assist applicants achieve at least one professional certification while gaining hands-on experience with AFIT's Security Team. Towards the end of the program we establish a network of contacts with the applicant to familiarize them with potential employers and employment missions. When complete, the applicant will be able to perform general security manager duties or more specialized IP functions with the DOD or Industry Partners.
Working within the security administration areas to include Information Protection, Personnel Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, and Operations Security. Positions of employment are generally posted as Security Management, Information Protection or Special Security. Our aim is to build knowledge and work experience toward fulfilling the qualifications necessary for employment in government as a 0080 Security Specialist and similar Industry positions. Our program helps establish a network of contacts useful in attaining employment upon completion of the program.
Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.
No prerequisite eligibility requirements
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) is a military organization. We accept military applicants from all services who are within 180 days from ETS and have their Commanders approval to participate. We are training personnel for positions on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (Dayton), Ohio.
