Aero Elite Flight Training is Northern Virginia’s premier flight school. We provide pilot license flight instruction and turn your dreams of flying into a reality. At Aero Elite we welcome every flight enthusiast, from brand-new students to experienced aviators into our close-knit pilot community. As a part of the Flight Instructor Development Program, this internship is a unique opportunity for transitioning service members to immerse themselves in a civilian flight training operation and build flight hour experience as a Certified Flight Instructor towards the Airline Transport Pilot certificate.

Job Description: As a part of the Flight Instructor Development Program, this internship is a unique opportunity for transitioning service members to immerse themselves in a civilian flight training operationKey Responsibilities Include:- Conduct both flight and ground training lessons- Create reservations and dispatch lessons following set standard operating procedures- Gather weather information and help plan flights with students and other instructors- Ensure students are progressing and meeting training objectivesAdministrative Duties: - Assist with student record-keeping in accordance with FAA & TSA requirements- Assist with any regulatory inspections and inquiries from the FAA- Communicate with the internal and external stakeholders on aircraft status and availability Requirements: - Receive commander approval and be within 180 days of separation/retirement to participate in the Aero Elite SkillBridge internship. - At least a commercial pilot certificate (Certified Flight Instructor certification preferred)- Desire to work in a Flight Training environment- Enjoys providing instruction and mentorship as much as receiving it- Ability to work collaboratively with fellow maintainers, instructors, and flight students as well as independently. Length of Training: This Internship Training Plan is written to cover up to 180 days (6 Months).
